Electric Vehicle Spotlight: Breathe easier with more electric vehicles on the road

Plug in America | Nevada Transportation Electrification Forum

Gas-powered cars and trucks emit air pollution — including carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxides, particulate matter, and volatile organic compounds — which can worsen health problems.

Children, the elderly, and people with health conditions such as asthma or heart disease have a harder time breathing when exposed to these pollutants. And low-income families and people of color who live close to major highways suffer the most from air pollution exposure.

This doesn’t have to be the case. By adopting Clean Car Standards and making zero-emission electric vehicles more accessible, we can have healthier air for all Nevadans.
